Q. What's so special about the mp3s offered on

A. For one, you're buying them directly from us, so you're doing us a big favor. Though we love the middle men that help us out with our business, it's also nice and a bit more profitable to do business directly with our own customers. But more than that, MP3s of this quality are not available too many other places on the internet. They are near CD quality-- 320 kbps! They are also DRM free, so you can play them on any mp3 device you might have-- yes, this includes your iPod.

Q. Why is it taking so long to download?

A. We're selling you higher quality, larger mp3s, but they're also bigger, so they take longer to download. We do not recommend downloading mp3s from if you do not have a fairly fast connection (dsl, cable, etc), in other words, dial-up might take a while, but you can try.

Q. My mp3s were delivered in a zip file. What do I do?

A. ZIP FILE FOR PC: Save the zip file to your desktop, or someplace else of your choice. If your browser doesn't give you the option to save it somewhere, by default most browsers will save to the Desktop, or somewhere in My Documents, such as in the My Received Files folder.

Once you find the zip file, double click that file. It will open up like a folder. You can navigate through the folders in the zip file, if any. You can copy the mp3s out of these folders to your Desktop, or wherever you want them to eventually reside.

ZIP FILE FOR MAC: Save the zip file to your downloads folder, or someplace else of your choice. Double click the file, and it will unpack the zip file into a folder, usually named the same as the zip file. You can navigate through the folders in the zip file, if any. You can copy the mp3s out of these folders to your Desktop, or wherever you want them to eventually reside.

Q. Am I charged shipping on downloads?

A. No, you will not be charged shipping on downloads.

Q. I can't find my zip file on my desk top, but I was charged. What do I do?

A. If you never received an email from us with a confirmation of your order then you were not charged. If we charged you, then you can download your order from your account or purchases page. If you downloaded your ordered files but can't find the files, here are some instructions borrowed from Apple to help searching for files on your hard drive:

Windows users

On the Start menu, click Search.

Click All Files and folders.

In the "All or part of the file name" field, type "zip" or for the folder name "catalog" and then click Search.

If you see the files you are looking for in the Search Results window, you can add them back into your music library.

Mac OSX users

From the File menu, choose Find (if using Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger or newer, you can alternatively click the Spotlight menu).

Type "zip" as the search term.

Click Search (Spotlight automatically searches as you type, and does not have a Search button).

If you see the files you are looking for in the Search Results window, you can add them back into your music library.

Check your Recycle Bin/Trash

Another place to look for wayward music files is in your Recycle Bin (Windows) or the Trash (Mac). Don't ask. Sometimes things happen and files wind up there. We've all done it and couldn't even begin to guess how. If you find any, just move them from the Recycle Bin or Trash, and add them back to where ever you store your music.

Q. What happens if I closed the window before my .zip finished downloading?

It's ok. You can always log into your account and download your order again from your Purchases page.

Q. My order was shipped 2 weeks ago and I still have not gotten it. What now?

A. Anticon sends a delivery confirmation number to all customers. Please track your order with the delivery confirmation number we provided you with before contacting us. USPS doesn't track the same way that UPS does-- basically they'll tell you whether the package is in route or has been delivered. Anticon has a (3) three week policy on items which appear to be lost in the mail for domestic orders. International orders have a (6) six week policy before being re-shipped. If you have not received your order after this period of time after the shipping date, you can contact and we will do our best to remedy the situation.

Q. I am trying to order something that says "currently out of stock, why is this item out of stock?

A. We do not backorder items. If it is out of stock, please check back and see if we have more in stock at another time. Some items might just be getting repressed. Some items may be out of print and listed in our catalog for historical documentation. Usually we will note this in the item description if such is the case.

Q. What's the deal with PRE-ORDERS?

A. Pre-ordering product is a great way to guarantee you receive new releases on their street date and we usually offer a nice pre-order bonus package to make it even more enticing. If you place an order that includes a PRE-ORDER item, we will hold on to your entire order until the ship date on the pre-ordered item.

Q. How can I pay for my orders?

A. We accept payment from Visa, Mastercard and Paypal.

Q. I emailed Customer Service, but haven't heard back. What's going on?

A. All questions are answered in the order they are received. You should receive a response within one business day. Please note that Anticon is closed on the weekends and holidays, but we'll answer your questions as soon as we get back to the office.

Q. How do I check my order status?

A. We will send you some confirmation emails along the way. You will be emailed once you have purchased the item and then you'll be emailed again when the item is shipped. That email should include a delivery confirmation number which you can use to track your package, however USPS's delivery confirmation really only indicates whether the package has been delivered or not.

Because we know how important security is for our customers, Anticon has taken great measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of ordering information such as credit card numbers, addresses and personal data.

Anticon uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology for encrypting data transmitted over the internet. SSL was created by Netscape and is supported by most internet browsers, including Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer. If you see a blue line at the top of your window and a symbol (usually in the lower portion of your screen) that looks like a lock and key, then you are protected by SSL protocol. Other browsers use similar, but not necessarily identical, indicators.

Anticon is also registered with a site identification authority (Geotrust... a subsidiary of VeriSign) which enables your browser to confirm our store's identity before transmissions are sent. VeriSign technology provides the strongest encryption available today (it is used by the military for securing information and data transmissions).

Any information you provide on this web site will only be used to process your orders and to identify you within our system. We may use your contact information including your email address to contact you if we have any questions about your order. We may also use your email address to notify you about our site, new items we carry, special offers or promotions or other information. We do not access any credit card information you provide or any related information other than to process and fulfill your order.
